The new Ohio Township Central Library in Newburgh, Indiana, is an amazing building that uses green technology and innovative spaces to make a grand contemporary setting. Connecting the children's and adult collections is a passageway created by this 28' x 6' stained glass wall. The woodland scene begins with sunrise and spring on the children's end and ends with sunset and fall on the adult end. In between are trees, flowers, shrubs, birds, reptiles, mammals, and even authentic arrowheads. All the living things are indigenous to southern Indiana, and the arrowheads are from nearby Angel Mounds, a Mississippian settlement. The wall has about 8000 pieces of opalescent and flashed glass from Kokomo, Spectrum, Youghiogheny, Uroboros, and Wissmach. Many details are painted and fired. The central waterfall extends down the knee wall to a serpentine translucent floor with an LED lighting system. A wooden bridge over the floor gives the impression of crossing a river.
